Grinding noise S70 1999

Here's another thought...Find an open parking lot and try this...Turn the wheel hard to the left and see if you hear the noise if the answer is YES it may be a bad CV joint. If (in the same lot) you don't then try shifting the weight by turning left and right and if you hear a change in the noise it could be a wheel bearing.
