Wheel bearing noise 850 1997

I just replaced the front wheel bearings on our 850. All appeared well until last week, the right side began making a strange noise whenever I drove the car from a cold start. The noise pulsated up/down and sounds like grinding. Turning the car left or right does not cause the noise to increase. It is more pronounced whenever I apply the brakes, probably because it allows the sound to travel through the calipers/pads. Once I've travelled approx. 10 miles the sound goes away. (bearings heating up?)
No vibration at any speed. I've checked the axle nut, it is tight and torqued down properly. Not sure what else to do other than replace this one, have the old one checked out.
