Ignition Key Spins V70-XC70 2000

Hello,
I own a 2000 V70 w/ 75,000 miles. I had no complaints until recently. The window switch failed and the interior trim on the doors is loosening. (The window switch I replaced, trim problem I'll live with.)
Now the ignition key spins completely around at times until it catches and starts the car. I have reviewed previous threads regarding the problem but want to be sure what exactly needs to be replaced and the difficulty of doing the job myself. I appreciate the ongoing assistance all of you who provide on this site to make owning a Volvo more enjoyable.
