Ignition Key Spins V70-XC70 2000

klaus,
I did as you said and the cylinder did not move...thankfully. I am going undertake the project this weekend as you instructed and hope it's just the electronic portion that I can replace. In your experience, is the costly malfuncton of the cylinder a common problem in the 2000 V70 or is it typically just the electronic portion? Thanks for taking the time to help me out. -John
