location of ambient temperature sensor S40-V40

The same year V70 has 2 temp sensors, one on the driver's side which is supposed to be stuck in the small grill opening. The passenger side is supposed to be stuck into the splash pan, but never is.

Mine were not where they were supposed to be, so I stuck both of them into the small grill opening on each side of the front bumper. Now everything is perfect.

The sensors have two wires going into a hard to get apart plug. The sensor itself is surrounded by 3 plastic prongs which are supposed to hold the sensor in a small hole and keep the temperature sensative tip from touching anything. I hope that makes sense.
