replacing fuel pressure regulator, OBD code 172 S70 1998

Hi Bill-

I had the same code (system too rich, Bank 2) a few years back on my 97 850- someone on the brickboard pointed me to the following site:

http://volvospeed.com/Repair/vacuum_lines.php

The first vacuum elbow listed, and noted as a common failure, is behind the intake manifold on the passenger side. It is a tough one to swap - you need patience and a gentle touch in addition to the tools listed. I then took the elbow to the parts store and matched it up (buy two or three, it will make dropping them less devastating). Mine was mush on one side, but after replacing it I've never had this code again.

Mike
