timing belt replacement question V70-XC70 1999

I figure about mid-April before the garage is warm enough :)

I believe that aligning the timing marks BEFORE removing the T-belt will make all the difference. And just cutting off the old T-belt makes sense if you are going to replace the tensioner anyway.

I, too, am waiting on the verdict of the T-belt mishap. The local dealer quoted me $300 in labor, FCP Groton wants around $300 in parts for my 1998, so the total dealer charge would be around $700. Lots of bucks for a car I plan to sell this summer.
