Heat acting up V70-XC70

On my ride home last night and again this morning, my heat is acting funny. It blows hot only on the hottest setting at the top of the dial. As you move the dial down to change the temp, it immediately starts blowing cool and then goes to cold air. Even with my temp dial above 70 it was blowing cold air. Does anyone have an idea what is going on or going wrong. I have a feeling that i will get in my car and have no heat at all one morning.
