Loose Camshaft Seal 850 1997

Around New Years I replaced my head gasket. Car ran great for 4,000 km, then I developed a massive oil leak.

I have just figured out that the seal behind the camshaft position sensor basically 'popped' out. It fell out of the bore as soon as I touched it. It is possible that it was never properly seated. When I did the head I just set the seals in place, assembled the head and never pushed the seals all the way in. In hindsight I now realize I should have pushed the exposed seals home.

Since the seal was like new I greased the OD and put it back in. I was suprised by how easily the seal went in. No tools, no great force, just with my fingers. I tried to rotate it with a pick, and it did not rotate, but it doesn't seem right to me.

Should it be tighter than this? Will it blow out again from oil pressure? Should I remove it and add some adhesive?

It is not a huge problem, if it starts to leak I know where the problem is, but I'd like to do it once and be done with it.
