E-code headlamps V70-XC70

http://www.vivaperformance.com

Volvo finally got the reflectors, lenses, everything right with the last couple years of the C70 ie, after they stopped building the old SV70!

The last couple years of the C70 had clear or "jewel" headlights, both DOT and E-code.

The E-code "City lights" will and do work. The actual Euro-market cars have motors that adjust the lights so you have to aim them by hand on a US car, ie. you can't use the bubble balance to aim the lights because the E-codes have none. If you get the late US C70 clear corners they have the orange DOT reflectors. the It's pricey but still cheaper than leasing a V12 BMW 7-Series for a month. :D

The light pattern is far superior to the DOT lights and even to the earlier fluted-lens E-codes. The car definitely looks different -- in a nice way.

'98 V70 T5 5-speed, 172k mi, Bilstein HD, front IPD stabilizer bar, Volvo strut tower brace and skidplate, XC grill, C70 jewel E-Codes, V-1, Lidatek, Mobil-1 since new.

Etymology moment: Early Jazz musicians would say that a guy could really "blow" a horn if he had a good sound when playing the horn. If he couldn't or didn't play very well then they would say that he sounded like he was "sucking" on his horn. That's (arguably) where the term "suck" as being something bad came from. It did not mean that fellatio was a bad thing.
