Climate a/c recirculation 850

Hi all...

I have a 1994 850 wagon with manual climate control. When I got the car the recirc button would do nothing. Light was always on and it would only dim slightly when I toggled it to off. Damper wouldn't move at all (visually watched it).

Unplugged the recirculation damper motor and the switch indicator light turned on and off as it should have.

Acquired another damper motor at the junkyard, put it in the car without hooking it up to the actual damper arm assembly and the switch light went off and on as normal. The trouble is, it only made the motor turn once, I think to open and has never worked since. I've left it at off in an effort to not burn the little motor again.

My question is what else should I have to change on this thing? The switch itself? Is there a fuse anywhere I should look at? Glove compartment is still out of the car and has been for about 6 months so I've been "manually" managing my recirc.

Anything would be absolutely appreciated.
