My 850 Wagon (to fix or not to fix)-smog, front end, etc. 850 1994

Hello. I have yet another question. 3 Months ago, I moved to CA and left my Vo at the home I own in Maine. My 850 wagon was always reliable, never left me stranded, etc. I have completed (nearly) a refurbish of the inside after a foster care St Bernard trashed the plastic sides, doors, etc. New windshield in place. 3 rust spots the size of a quarter. I have had the usual parts go and replaced, including new brakes, tires, one bad valve so that was fixed, right side of front end redone (the more expensive side), new shocks on rear and rear gate, new power window switch after my dog spilled a coke into the electronics from the ill placed cup holder and the car has 210000 on it. I took it to my mechanic before I left and he said that the left front end needs to be done. $400 total and we could use the parts off my parts car. Have complete parts car of same year that I can strip to bring with me or rebuild while on vacation next month. Only other issue is a touchy heater/blower switch but I have the glove box out. Have two new batteries for this car, 4 new studded snow tires mounted on winter wheels and 4 new road tires mounted on showier wheels. Mechanic said he would fix it and would not hesitate to drive it across to CA. My questions are: We do not have emisions (smog) tests in Maine. What are the chances that this car would not pass smog? I think I already replaced the evap cannister. If it did not pass, what would be wrong with the car and what could I expect for costs? Would any of the parts be interchangable for my 1998 Volvo V70 GlT AWD? I would like any/all opinions. I need to make my descision to repair, sell, or junk this month. Thanks for your help. Sue
