core temperature sensor in Volvo 760 1990

I had the "oxygen sensor" and the "EGR temperature sensor" replaced about 4 months ago. Now I need to have the "core temperature sensor" replaced, according to the dealer.
Again they will charge me for 275.00 for the sensor alone, not including labor... I do not know where this sensor is located.
(The upper radiator hose had come off suddenly and the check engine light came on. A piece of the neck of the overflow tank had broken off and the hose no longer fitted securely on the shorter neck. I attached the hose myself and went to the dealer to make sure that the check engine light had no other reason for being on, and to check the connection. At that point I did not know that the piece of the neck had broken off, because I had seen no leak previously, or after attaching a new radiator hose.
A service writer at the volvo dealer, with 20 years of experience, pulled on the hose I had installed, and it came off, spraying him with hot fluid.! Luckily it did not spray me, as I was standing right next to him, pointing out the hose I had installed. He knew I had just arrived and that the car was still hot. He was very angry and blamed me for his stupidity in pulling on a hose connected to the overflow.
Now they are telling me that I need to have the "core temperature sensor" replaced. Could anyone tell me whether this is different from the Oxygen sensor, or the EGR sensor? I have the feeling of paying for the same parts over and over again. I have been checking on the different types of sensors, but I cannot find any description for the core temperature sensor.
I do not see the connection to the disconnected hose, and when asking the service writer, I could get no clear answer.
