Which 850's to avoid ? 850

The 1993 850 is the only one I would avoid. They all require more maintenance than the 240, and there is less room to work on under the hood. The AC evaporators tend to leak after 6 or 7 years and that is as hard to fix as the 240 fan.
You are better off if you can find a manual rather than an automatic, the ATs are fragile.
The cars seat sits lower to the ground than the 240, but they are still very comfortable.
FWD in the snow takes some getting used to, it will understeer.
