I can't get my wheels off to rotate them...I feel dumb. 850 1994

So, I now drive my wife's old 850. The last time I had it in it needed new rims. The indy shop had a wreck with 4 great alloys. That was 20K ago and I went to rotate them. I got the lugs out but I couldn't get the front wheel off. Since I have never had alloys I didn'k know if there was some trick I didn't know or has the salt and snow of the current winter just created problems. Either way, how do I get them off without damaging anything. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.
