STOCK STEREO S70 1998

Do some homework at www.crutchfield.com
I just replaced my head unit with a JVC unit, and crutfield provides interfaces for your wiring harness on the volvo. I put an amp in a pevious 850 before the wiring harness patches were developed by crutchfield and it was almost impossible to figure out. That car has up to 8 speakers. I think there are different grade stereos in the different models. My 99 T% wagon had a great stereo, but there was no good quality MP3 interface, so I traded out the head unit for a unit with an HDFM reciever, that plays all format CDs, that I can directly plug and external input into....MP3, IPOD......it's an external in.
If you replace all the speakers....I'm not sure how the volvo headunit will like it....you'd be going from 8 ohms down to 4 ohms. Often amps can't handle less resistence.
Crutchfield reps can discuss the amp idea with you....I'm pretty sure you will need a 4 channel amp.
