Check engine light come on - code P0755. V70-XC70 1998

My car: 1998 v70 awd sportswagon

Check engine light come on and stays on.

Diagnostic at Autozone shows the following code: P0755 - shift solenoid problem.

For all practical purposes the car runs fine, but I'm worried that if I go long distances (which I plan to do soon) I can potentially have issues on the highway!!!

What does this mean?

Is it a serious problem?

What is the part/s that should be repaired/replaced?

I appreciate any advice.
