maintainance question S40-V40

The serpentine belt is on the passenger side of the engine compartment. It will be visible without any parts or cover removal and drives the AC compressor, alternator and power steering pump. Flat and about an inch wide. Look for fine cracks (sign or drying out) or damage.

If you want to inspect the timing belt, it is under a plastic cover on the same side of the engine.
