Air Pump replacement 850 1996

It's a straight forward job to swap the pump although it ain't cheap. The problem is a design flaw (water runs downhill) in the system in that condensation forms in the line, runs down and fills the pump with water shorting it out. You need to drill two 1/8" holes in the lowest point of the pump that will drain it. Doing this first before replacing the pump may solve your problem. There is also a round SAS valve up on the firewall that is part of the system that may be bad. A lota guys recommend changing it at the same time although it runs about $80. if I recall correctly. The other things that fail in the system are the relay (unlikely) which is right beside the pump and a small vac selonoid on the inside of the radiator shroud with purple and white lines running to it. My guess though is your pump is full of water.
