Turbo woes 850 1994

My turbo is leaking oil and it is not from any of the lines. I did the oil filler cap test and I can't see that there is any pressure in the crankcase. It seems to be neutral so I don't think oil is backing up in the return line.

When I pulled off the high pressure air hose to the intercooler there was pooled oil in the flange of the turbo. It is blowing a bit of smoke too. Have any of you tried to rebuild a turbo? I found a turbo shop in Dallas that will rebuild mine for $275. Of course I will have to remove and replace in both events.

I have 98K on my 850T and it's the original turbo charger.

Thanks in advance!
