If the drain plugs up, water will make the passenger side carpet wet. The drain is in the center of the car, behind the firewall, but unless it is dripping, you won't find it.

Your problem sounds more like the compressor clutch gap is worn too wide and now will not engage when warm. Any AC shop can adjust the clutch, about a 2 hour job.
