Hi, Klaus.
Those prices you quoted have me concerned.
When I first bought a set of Euroheadlights for my wife's '93 240, a guy in the Netherlands offered me a price -- not as cheap as yours, but nevertheless cheap -- that I thought was a bargain. Well, I'm sure you know what happened -- they turned out to ScanTech quality (i.e., JBAuto-brand) and had lots of problems (the mounting screws pulled out, the plastic connectors at the corners of the reflectors broke, the adjusters didn't move easily because the threads in the housing weren't good, and the front lens gasket was mounted sloppily). Worst of all, their optics (although better than the OEM/DOT plastics, weren't as good as my Cibie e-Codes in my '84 and earlier cars.
Of course, for my second set, for my own '93, my daughter bought me (as a surprise, from her business trip to Europe) a genuine Volvo/Cibie set; much better in all respects.
Knowing how much you take pride in your car, I'm wondering if you want to settle for some ScanTech or JBAuto low-quality lamps -- and I'm suggesting, for your sake, that you should make sure you're buying the good stuff; or, if they're too costly for you, at least find out what brand your buying.
Sorry to hear about the stone damage, and wishing you good luck in any case.
