C70 ELECTRICAL SHORT C70 1997

Hi Mandy,
I hope you are now driving around the city in 3rd gear now :) Better for the engine and tranny.

When you get back from that dufus shop, check a couple of things. Trunk light, flip the rear seat forward and make sure the light is off. Glove compartment, make sure the light is off when closed, may need to be dark to see it. When you lock the car, make sure the red light is blinking once every 3 seconds or so. If it doesn't blink, raise the hood and close it firmly and retry locking. Sometimes, when the security system detects an open circuit, it continues to test itself every couple of seconds until the battery runs down.

Are the engine fans running after shutdown? If so, it might be the ECT sensor.

You really need someone, like your neighbor, to test the current flow from the battery with a multimeter, as one fuse at a time is pulled and put back in. That will isolate the drain on the battery.
