Dreaded A/C Woes-Your Expert Advice is NEEDED 850 1995

Hi,

My compressor wouldn't run when A/C was started. Checked codes, cleaned cabin temp sensors, reset codes. I jumped the compressor by running the wire to the battery and it kicked in and ran strong. Anyone know what the problem could be? I know you must be tired of A/C questions by now but I know someone out there can help me!! Where do I go next? Any sensors, switches, relays I should be checking? I noticed my temp readings on the dash have been off in degress, could the outside temp sensor be a problem with the A/C? Anything else? I don't want to take this to the dealer and pay $$$$$$$$$ when I know the compressor is fine and it's probably just some small thing I could do myself. Any help/info is welcomed and appreciated!!! Thanks!!!
