ABS light....post sand storm 850 1996

I was driving up to Phoenix from Tucson and had to pass through a thick dust storm. A few miles after that, my ABS light went on and has stayed on. I am ASSUMING it's a dirty relay or dust somewhere in the system, but I could be wrong and I don't know much about the ABS system.

It does seem like the ABS is not working. I tried a few hard brake hits at moderate speed and got no ABS pulsing.

Any ideas? Can dust do this? Or am I most likley just seeing a relationship where there is none?
