oil drain plug and oil pressure switch thread sizes 850

if you want to install an oil temp gauge and oil pressure gauge on your 5cyl you will face one problem: the threads on the engine oil pressure hole and the oil drain pan are METRIC.

here are the specs: drain plug: 18mm metric straight thread
Pressure switch: 14mm metric x 1.5 straight thread

Remember straight thread fittings need a crush washer to be oil tight.

I used AutoMeter Metric adaptor 2267 for my oil pressure sender

I did not find any adaptor for the oil pan plug so I bought a plug from the dealer and made it tapped to the right size (1/8 NPT for my sender) at a local machine shop for 10 dollars cash.

I thought it was a relevant information for all of you since this information doesn appear to ha been posted before.
