Engine oil leaks and oil filters w/o check valves 850

Hi All:

Just wondered if anyone else noticed a correlation between using oil filters w/o check valves and oil leaks. The volvo or mann filters have a huge spring check valve in them and when I use them, it seems like I never have oil seepage. Perhaps the oil pressure on the seals is less when you have a check valve in the flow of the oil. I usually buy 10 pack mann filters from fcp groton, but when i run out, i sometimes to auto zone and buy whatever. Anyway, just thought some of you might have an opinion on this or give filters with check valves a try.
