Can dirty brake fluid ruin ABS sensors? 850 1996

I am about to do the brakes on an '96 850 for the first time, and I have a question about the ABS sensors.

I have heard (on other cars) that when you push the caliper back into the piston, the dirty brake fluid can ruin the ABS sensor, The remedy for this is to use a clamp to prevent the brake fluid from affecting the ABS sensor.

Does this apply to the 850? I read the procedure here on the board several times and saw no mention of it.

Any responses would be greatly appreciated.
