Noisy AM radio S70 1998

Could be a loose/corroded ground connection, particularly since so many different sources are causing it. I'm not sure where the major grounds are, but I'd check the radio & antenna grounds first.

If you hear noise on a weak AM station, that's one thing. If you hear it on a STRONG local station, that could be a loose ground.

Do you hear any ignition related pops from the spark plugs firing?

If you have the ability to swap out the radio, that could tell you if it's internal to the radio or not.

Good Luck
