a/c freezing up at firewall 850 1995

If it isn't cycling off and it is freezing the firewall, then you have a pressure switch issue. I am assuming that is the pressostat you mentioned? If you feel the switch is good, then it may be an electrical issue from the switch to the system. If you had it recharged 3 years ago and now it started freezing the firewall, I would say you don't have an overcharge issue. When the compressor never cycles off, then the charge keeps cooling until is freezes the system. It cycles off to let the temp rise some.
