Headlight switch - what are a/b/c on back? 850 1995

I was replacing the burnt out bolb on my headlight swith and noticed a 3 position switch on the back. It is currently in position C. there are also A & B positions.

Does anyone know what they are for and do? In searching the forum I found a mention of a European option. What is different at that then US? As far as I know the DRL is controlled via the little screw on the front. I don't have front fog lights but does it have something to do with that?
