Stumper!!

When the PNP fails, you usually get a flashing arrow and the reverse lights no longer work.

It might be worth dropping $100 at your local friendly dealer and have them look for any codes. At least they can point you in the right direction. Their diagnostic code reader is much better than the generic.

BTW, the W switch will put your car in 3rd gear which is OK when you are already rolling.

Is it only 1st gear that acts this way?
