What other year motors make the best direct drop in to my 95 850? 850 1995

My 1995 850 crisped up some valves at 249,000 miles. I've considered a repair and rebuild, but have decided to drop another motor in. I have some good prospects for that.

What other years make the best direct drop in? I need to know if I would face significant barriers using a '96, '97, etc. Any help with this question will be much appreciated.
