Occasional ABS warning V70-XC70 2001

On two occasions I have gotten an ABS light and a message that my ABS system
requires service. It stayed on till I shut the car down and then I didn't see
it again for over a month. I have only seen it twice. Regular maintenance is
due in about another 2000 miles. The nearest dealer is a 45 mile trip to a place
that I otherwise rarely go. Can it wait that long or should I worry about it?
I have not had any other symptoms.
