Heavy Coolant Leak and P0172 Code S70 1998

Hi Folks,

98 S70 T5

Here are the facts:

1. Arrived home from a 20 mile 'aggressive' but not 'abusive' trip
2. COOLANT WAS LEAKING HEAVILY primarly at bottom of lowever radiator hose slightly above where it meets the bottom of the radiator - still not sure of source of leak
3. CEL light had come on 5 miles prior to arrival
4. OBDII says code P0172
5. Fan seems to be working too much lately - like within 60 seconds of starting the cold car after sitting overnight and throughout the drive.

I read up on P0172 which says the system is running too rich and that typically happens because the car 'thinks' it is running too cold and subsequently leaves the t-stat open. That seems to conflict with the fact that the car is telling the fan to run.

About to drain the whole system and look at hoses, AND the vacuum elbow near the intake manifold. Would appreciate any input. Thanks guys.
