To buy or not buy... V70-XC70 1998

my 1999 V70 had the steering rack go bad at about 150K-miles...Apparently this is a problem only if it was the rack was manufactured in france.
also the ABS module starts to act up around the same mileage and needs to be replaced, but so far I have had nothing serious to deal with other than the rack having to be replaced which we were aware of WAS going to eventually go bad when we bought the car.
