95 850 Instrument Cluster Fault Code question 850

Hello Faithful Brickboard,

I read the fault codes on my 95 855R today and a couple of questions came up.

1. When The test lead is plugged into socket 6 on module for testing the ignition side of the system it won't give me back any codes. As far as I could tell from the Haynes book I should at least get a 1-1-1 code if all is well? What is the problem, or what am I doing wrong?

2. When I ran the Instrument Cluster Identification test with the lead plugged into socket 7 on module A the code 1-2-2 came back. The Haynes manual says this code means "temperature signal interval too long." What does this mean? What the fix for this problem?

Thanks a bunch,

Wayne
