I think the ABS is about to fail - what to do? 850 1996

Klaus and Fixit 2003,

Thank you both for your responces. You're both right. I do have numerous keys on my key chain, but I've driven the car with just the valet key and have still triggered the ABS light.

Klaus, I already ordered the E5 Torx socket from Mack Tools which will be delived to my house for $3.17 (note: if you call in your order instead of placing it via Mack Tool's web site you do not pay a shipping and handling ($6.95) charge - why I don't know, but who am I to argue).

As soon as I can take the car out of service, I'll have the repair done. I guess I can't complain. The ABS failed at 87,000 miles. Also, the cost of a new ABS from the dealer is $741 plus tax. To quote the old Toyota ad "Oh what a feeling...." which is what I'd be humming if I didn't have your help and Victor's. Again the value of this web site is confirmed.

Hugh
