No power, no start when warm 850 1996

Definitely check the fuel pressure at the rail. The guage I got from Autozone also had the larger fitting -for Ford/GM I believe- that was just a bit to big to fit the schrader valve. I am able to work around it by unbolting (loosening) the throttle mount and shifting things a bit. It's still not ideal, but it works. CAUTION: If you do this, pay extra special attention to the throttle and cable when you are done. Wouldn't want to get it hung up in the wrong position...

I *think* you'll find that your fuel pressure regulator (FPR) is faulty. I had a similar problem with a '94 850 non-turbo @ 200K miles. It had recent fuel filter and fuel pump (Walbro) and very similar symptoms, except it would still start when warm. For the warm start problems I suggest replacing the fuel filter, if it's still the original.

Good luck and let us know.
