Broken off tranny dipstick C70 2001

The PO of my car broke off the tranny dipstick. They rigged the top of the dipstick to a piece of fuel line tubing and attached it to the entry-point tube.

I bought a new dipstick only to find there is something blocking the stick from entering the tranny. It's got to be the other end of the broken end dipstick.

Would it be possible to tap or drill out the dipstick? Would the shreds of plastic damage the tranny if I flushed it immediately?

Or should I get just it to a shop ASAP?

Thanks in advance.
Mike
