New to brickboard and looking for advice V70-XC70

Hi Ian,
I don't think you will ever find a decent 98 v70 for around $3k. Maybe 5-6k will get you one with around 110k miles and no real defects.

Anyhow, major items to look for/avoid:

leaking rear main seal==$$$ to fix
leaking a/c evaporator==$$$ to fix
faulty ABS computer--accompanied by TRACS OFF light and ABS light
burnt or slipping transmission---run away
a few electrical glitches like door power switch..


otherwise these are great, reliable, comfortable, safe cars.
