2000 S80 as replacement for my 95 850 - S80

Hello,

I plan to replace my 95 Volvo 850 soon. The car has 188K miles, runs well, still very comfortable and solid, but its overall cosmetic appearance shows age, and I need a cleaner looking car. I do all repairs myself, and want to apply my 850 experience to the next car.

I am looking at a clean 2000 S80 with 80K on it.

Is this a good year? Do I expect reliability comparable to my 850? Is gas mileage similar or noticeably worse?

My 850 did require repairs, but it never had failures that required towing or left me stranded. Everything came with ample warning.

Thank you for your advice,

Yuri
