Rear Spring Orientation Red Mark 850

Hi All:

Finished my suspension project today by having the garage put new volvo springs on the back. After 480,000 miles they had dropped about 1/2" is all, but that's enough to cause other sounds and a funny driving angle. Anyway, should've done the job myself, but looking at the springs sometime later, I noticed the red marks volvo puts on the spring is facing back on one, and you can't see the red mark on the other side. I think the red mark is supposed to face the front of the car, but does anyone know? I might have to drive over to the dealer and look under some cars in the service lot. By the way, dealer springs and new rubber seats costs 320.00. I couldn't hardly budge the new springs to compress, but the old ones I could a bit. Anyway, if anyone knows for sure on the red paint marks, let me know. Thanks.
