Does the headlight switch, if it is defective, prevent the side view mirrors from working? 850 1996

The headlights and rearview mirror switches have NO connection. I would suspect the switches or the ground wire being corroded. So long as the fuse is good, pull it out and turn it around and re-insert it.

Same is true for the seat heater switch lights, etc. Check the ground wire under the console. Make sure the wire contacts metal and not rust.

Klaus

EDIT: It could also be the ignition switch. Try jiggling the switch when the mirrors don't work and if that fixes it, replace the electrical part of the ignition switch.
