Cause for FWD cv shaft replacement?

Yes, we longtime owners can vouch for the fact that the boots split before any noise appears. Then, some period of time (can take more than a year) later the noises start. Then of course it starts to seize up.

The good part is that you get plenty of warning. The bad part is that the boots fail. Once that happens, IMO replace the axle. PO of my car tried replacing boot and it extended life 1 year. That's life.
