Moonroof problem - or is my V70 possessed? V70-XC70 2004

It still sounds like a ground wire problem to me. On my 1998, taking the clear covers off of the overhead lights reveals a torx screw which is then undone and the large plastic cover comes off.
If you drive around this way, you may find the real problem. It could be a short in the rearview mirror wire, which then supplies current to the SR motor. Just a stab in the dark. Also, verify that the leads they pulled off the SR motor are covered in electrical tape and not touching somewhere else.
