Does it really work...? 850 1995

This maybe a repeat subject I dont know, but I was searching on ebay UK and came across a chip ( really a resistor) stating it gives more power and economy by fooling the engine in thinking its cold out side and then the ECU changes the timing hence giving more power and economy.

Judging by the many purchases comments they seem to be convinced it works.
Supposedly it gives out about 20BHP more. Its selling for around 5 pounds.

Just wondering whether this is related to an IAT or if any one has heard of this could shed some light on this subject.

Does it really work?

Im also curious at what the IAT sensor specis are --whats the ohms numbers for testing this sensor as I cant find any info relating.
Klaus whats your opinion? Do you know the ohms for the temp?

Thanks
