Broken PNP or broken trany computer? 850 1994

Sorry, this is a little slow. My 1995 850 has the TCU next to the passenger fender, it's label has AsinWarner written on it.

If the shop screwed it up, let them fix it!!! When my 850 developed a short in the alternator, I also couldn't use the diagnostic light - it was always on because of the current flow. So, your car may also have a strong current flow somewhere.
In order to get a good look at the PNP, the battery needs to come out. If they failed to disconnect the battery, that is their problem. A generic scanner will still work from the port under the "change" holder in the center console.

Your car is in limp-home-mode, so if you downshift to L then 3, you should have 2 forward speeds to play with.
Look for a short, not a bad TCU.
