Locks on my 97 going bonkers-lights keep flashing. What's wrong? 850

If you unlock the driver's door with the remote but do not open the door, it will re-lock itself after 30 seconds. Then, if you are like me and have the window down, reach in and unlock the door from the inside handle - the alarm goes off!!
I have also been known to grab the remote too hard while getting in and have contact made while sitting down. The flashers go off and the doors lock! And my wife gets pissed because she is locked out of the passenger side. Just a quick unlock on the remote and all is well.
Remotes. Love/hate relationship.
