Thinking about giving up 850 for a 960? Should I do it? 850

The 960 is RWD vs FWD, which has its pluses and minuses. Check the tops of the door, next to the window, for vinyl pucker - that will happen if it is not garage kept.
The 6 cylinder engine has problems with coolant corrosion. If the antifreeze is not changed regularly and with "good" stuff, it will eat holes in the block and over heating happens (replace engine time).
Before you buy it, spend $100 at a good Volvo dealer or independent garage that has a Volvo scan tool, and get a through check up. Not just engine, but AC/heat system, actual miles driven, etc.
If you do decide to buy, I would suggest your treat the 960 to total fluid changes, everything! It will need a "tune up" from lack of use, so drive it like it is in "break in" mode. Change the fuel filter and use premium gas for the first 2 tank fulls.
The 960 is a nice luxury car, but the engines only last for 150K miles or so of stop and go traffic.
